Following a racist comic story that related Hideo Kojima to the assassination of Japan’s longest-serving High Minister Shinzo Abe, Kojima Productions has threatened criminal motion towards those that give a contribution to the “unfold of pretend information and rumors that put across false data.”
Kojima Productions tweeted out its observation previous lately, July 9, announcing that it “strongly condemns the unfold of pretend information and rumors that put across false data. We don’t tolerate such libel and can imagine taking criminal motion in some circumstances.”

As reported through PC Gamer, the cause of this observation stemmed from a racist comic story that reputedly started on 4Chan (stunning, I do know) that mentioned Kojima used to be the murderer in the back of the dying of Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan who was killed while he was delivering a campaign speech for upcoming elections on Friday, July 8.
Abe used to be shot two times and gave up the ghost at a health facility, and a suspect named Tetsuya Yamagami used to be arrested on the scene and admitted to being the person who shot the previous High Minister.
This so-called comic story used to be picked up through a French comic in a Tweet mocking the location and that used to be retweeted through a far-right French flesh presser named Damien Rieu who’s related to the Génération Identitaire motion he co-founded. Rieu took the comic story as a real reality and started spreading it.

In spite of the entire indicators of this clearly being some unwell comic story, photographs that falsely related Kojima to the assassination gave the impression “in an Iranian press outlet and as a part of a Greek information broadcast.”
Rieu has since apologized, however the harm had already been accomplished. Now, Kojima Productions is doubling down and letting the ones available in the market know that this isn’t one thing to comic story about and that it is going to take criminal motion in sure circumstances if any of this libel towards Hideo Kojima continues.
