To the pride of this system’s well-known alum, Texas Tech is making plans a significant overhaul.
On Monday evening, the college unveiled plans for a $200 million undertaking to construct a brand new south finish zone and Dustin R. Womble Soccer Heart at Jones AT&T Stadium. The renovations are scheduled to start out after the 2022 season and be able to begin the 2024 marketing campaign.
Patrick Mahomes, a former Purple Raiders quarterback prior to becoming a member of the Kansas Town Chiefs, celebrated his alma mater’s announcement.
“Large issues going down in LBK!!” Mahomes posted on Twitter. “Let’s pass!”
The soccer workforce’s Twitter account shared renderings of the way the finished undertaking will glance.
According to the college’s remark, athletic director Kirby Hocutt stated they are aiming “to be the highest athletics division within the nation.”
“This can be a ancient day as we announce our intentions to build what is going to be the premier soccer facility within the Large 12 Convention and nationally,” Hocutt stated. “This facility, when finished, is not going to take a backseat to some other college within the nation. We’ve got won super pastime from a lot of our supporters referring to this undertaking and watch for that proceeding as we get nearer to formally breaking floor.”
Mahomes made magic at Texas Tech, tossing 41 touchdowns and 5,052 passing yards all over his 3rd and ultimate 12 months prior to going professional. In two years, he can return to look his upgraded previous stomping grounds in a complete new mild.
